World Champion!

Today was amazing.

Fantastic.

Flawless.

Cori stepped up to the plate today feeling fantastic. She has trained every day for 6 days and has completed 31 repetitions of her routines in training and competition. Today she shows Half-in Full-out Tuck to Full-out Tuck and Half-in Full-out Straight to Double Straight. She is in the middle of the pack DD-wise (these are the very best) and she will need to hit.

Hard.

She had an opportunity to warm-up in the Comp gym and nailed down one of each routine there. We made sure that she pre-experienced everything. Brett even took video of her with the camera about 6" from her face because that's where the TV cameras are when you compete.

She then went to the back gym and did another of each just to stay on top of her game. It was interesting seeing how each competitor took the pressure in their own way. Some were irritable, some silly, one was napping when we were just about to walk out. Cori was fully dressed in her suit, tracksuit, and outside jacket (she likes to remain warm to the point of sweating). She was dancing, pacing and focusing, broken up by the odd comment, question or chat.

She marched out and did her two touches. She looked great. In control but fierce.

Maybe even ferocious.

Entirely in the moment.

She was great in her first routine and so were all the top girls. The American did not have the DD to compete but the rest were on target.
Because Corissa was first after prelims she will compete last. By the time it is her turn again the wind is against her. The British girls have both zeroed their 2nd pass (one cleared the mini on a straight jump and the other hit the side pads) and Sylvia from Portugal has done a beautiful Half-Full Straight mount (the same one Cori is about to do and the biggest DD mount that any woman has ever done) that was far too long and she crashed, hard, on the back of her head. She is uninjured but out of the game. Despite these three athletes off the board the other 4 have all hit. Corissa must drop her pass into the box with no errors. She has been doing this all week. She just needs to do it one more time.
Brilliant and the rest is history.
Brett took video and created a movie of Cori's warm-up, touches, competition, and awards.

Enjoy and see you all this week.

Stay Strong,

Jamie
